Elizabeth Veldboom here, but do call me Lizzie.
First, the preliminaries: I am a freelance writer and a student in Jerry B. Jenkins Christian Writers Guild. I’ve previously been published in places like Guidepost’s Angels on Earth Magazine, Susie Magazine, and Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Magic of Mothers and Daughters.
Now for the close-up: I’m a small town girl who is devoted to God, and it is for this I testify: I have heard the sound of mercy, I have felt the arms of grace, and I have seen my God do mighty things.
My name “Elizabeth” means “consecrated” or “devoted to God,” and that’s something I’ve always taken very seriously and treasured. I can’t say I always live up to my name, but I can say it is one of the deepest desires of my heart. If my life were a book, I’d want the dedication page to be to Him.
I’m the kind of girl who’d rather follow rules than risks, but I’m happy to say God is rehabilitating that part of me. It’s not always easy, and sometimes it can be downright painful-but that’s what I love about my God.
He can take something that was once painful, and redeem and transform it into something beautiful.
That’s my hope for you and for this blog. That you would see God’s beauty prominently displayed, His light in the dark, and your fears so transformed that you can’t even recognize them anymore.
I can’t wait to get to know you as we face our fears-together!
