Oh, I’m sorry! 😦 I always get really nervous when I have to go into the doctor as well. If it makes you feel any better, there’s even a whole phobia for it! Psalm 37:23 says the Lord delights in every detail of our lives. Going to the doctor is a detail He cares about and won’t miss! Love ya and I’ll be prayin’ for ya, Mrs. K! Let me know how it goes.
Provision. Since my wife stays home with the kids, a fear that keeps creeping up and showing its ugly, little head is that I’m going to “fail to provide for them”. Need to constantly surrender that over to God!
Mmm, that’s so hard. That’s a tough burden to shake. My mom is a stay-at-home mom and my dad has been the single provider for more than twenty five years, so I’ve seen that fear up close.
The gift you are giving your wife and children is beyond priceless, and I thank God for guys like you and my dad who are willing to sacrifice to do what’s best for their families. Because of my dad’s support, he was able to provide a home life my friends were envious of. While most kids were lucky if they even got to see their moms at dinner, I got to see her the entire day. So I hope you realize how great of a thing it is that you’re doing, and know that God will bless that. He definitely has for our family. We’ve never been rich, but we’ve always had just enough. For all the twenty five years my dad has been in business, we’ve made it! And my dad would be the first to tell you that there’s been many times when it didn’t look like we would.
But you know what matters to me more than the dollars my dad brings in? The love he provides. I am not joking when I say this: I could live in a box and still be happy, as long as I had my family with me. Provide love; God can provide the rest. I understand, though: it’s one thing to say that, it’s another to see the numbers and watch the bills stack up.
So know that I’ll be praying about those numbers! I’ll be praying that God will bless and provide for you and your family, and that He would help you break through and be with you when that fear shows up again. God will take care of you, dear brother.
Thanks for being so open and honest, Dustin! I want people to know that The Fear List is a safe place for people to share their fears. We’re behind ya here, my brother in Christ! 🙂 Matthew 6:25-27.
You’re absolutely right! When you know what to look for, it’s easier to find it. The first step in being able to fight a fear is to identify it, so the way I see it: you’re halfway there! Keep on pressin’ on, my brotha.
